Gmail Settings Now Accessible in Basic HTML View

July 15, 2007 • Darrell Shandrow Hilliker

We don’t know how long this has been the case, but we have just discovered that it is possible to adjust your Gmail account settings in the Basic HTML view. It seems this accessibility enhancement was made quietly by Google, but we appreciate its availability nonetheless.

  1. Wow! Very very cool! Thanks Darrell for letting us know about this. There is so much more functionality that is not yet in the basic view, but this is a big step in the right direction.

  2. Thank you very much for telling us about this Darrell. I have an account but never bothered to check it as the basic HTML setting was inaccessible. This forced me to use the other GMailsetting. Thank you Google!

  3. This is definitely much appreciated, no doubt about it. Some of the settings are still not accessible though I did notice after a while. Creating a filter for example is not there.
