Please allow me to present all of you with a thought provoking question. Feel free to comment.
If something bad happens and all of the causes are totally outside of your control, should you be punished in the same manner as though it was under your control and you were involved in the situation out of carelessness or purpose?
I really can’t say anymore about the situation right now, but, of course, you can bet that it is most certainly blindness related. If you have questions or would like further clarification, please post a comment. Let’s get a little dialogue going in the comments to this post.
A guess here. What happened with your taxi or bus ride?
Petro,
Yes. It may have something to do with the consequences of the occasional errors made by a cab company, regular public transportation system or paratransit.
Companies accomodate the needs of pregnant women by assigning them lighter work duties and allowing them paid family (maternity) leave once the child is born. Clearly, at least in the vast majority of cases, the condition of pregnancy is fully and obviously within a person’s control. It is commonly accepted that women in this condition require reasonable accomodations.
Sometimes, for reasons completely outside a person’s control, reasonable accomodations need to be made for people with disabilities. That’s all I’m going to say about the situation at this time. The question still stands. What should happen to a person when they’re in violation of a policy for a reason that is totally outside their control?
